Ian Rowles from Geoquip Water Solutions discusses best practice when working in environments that require special execution pumps. Effective pump management requires the efficient collection, extraction, pumping and disposal of water and wastewater. In special applications the importance of continuous pumping can make the pump selection an essential part of the process. Ian considers pump selection in a range of environments including remediation projects where the ground is contaminated and projects where the environment is potentially hazardous, chemically reactive or difficult.
We recently exhibited at the XVI ECSMGE (European Conference on Soil Mechanics & Geotechnical Engineering)
We exhibited on a stand with Laval Underground Systems and showcased our range of borehole pumps, downhole cameras and Boresaver treatments.
We also gave a Joint paper presentation with Martin Preene on Managing the clogging of grounwater wells, click here to read full paper.

Landslide activity and slope failure at ‘the Undercliff’ has been an ongoing problem for hundreds of years, promoted by marine erosion at the bottom of the sea cliffs, the geology of the area, high rainfall and high ground water levels. A significant landslide during the particularly bad winter of 1994-5 had seriously affected an area up to 400 metres inland from the coast and it was acknowledged that the instability at Castlehaven would have to be addressed to reduce the risk to public safety, property and the local infrastructure...
